We have been using GU140X16G-7002 displays, but have been told that these are obsolete now. The recommended replacement (when driving the display with the parallel interface) is the GU140X16G-7000B. We tried this replacement, but the display does not show correct data now, see the picture...

A comparison of the data sheet indeed shows very little differences. Apparently only the buffer size is different. Our code waits for the busy signal to be cleared, so this should be no issue.

Anyone have an idea what could couse garbled characters as shown in the picture?
